Day 43: Need to keep this in mind

Not very motivated this morning Have been awake for 3 hours trying not to think of having to go skipping. Know that I need to go now, but so weak and wimpy may now need to eat first!

(40 minutes later).....
Then I read Patrick's e-mail and thought GREAT.... only 7 x 2 minutes = 14 minutes, 10 minutes less than I have been skipping, but then motivation fizzled out quickly as I stood up and nearly collapsed from weakness. So, now feeling thoroughly disappointed with myself. Missed my cue to burn more fat, realised that I should be slightly less fanatical and take life a bit more as it comes. Decided to have breakfast and for the first time was uninspired by my brown rice and veggies with a boiled egg. Even adding strawberry balsamic vinegar to my rice/veg concoction to give it more taste didn't help much. Looking forward to my snack now. Will exercise later this evening before dinner and just go with the flow today. Was so tired from 5 hours of shopping in Glasgow yesterday that my whole body hurt this morning more than it usually does.

Am a bit afraid that eating as much veg as I want will mean that I don't eat enough. Not sure if sticking to my previous quantities and then adding more if I am hungry is the way to go, or just reduce if that is what I think I am interpreting my body wants.

  1. Ha! I'm with you Conny - eating as much as I want = not very much so am going to stick to the usual plan. Makes life much easier.

btw, you are in some gorgeous spot - am very jealous. and you look fab in the latest photos - great colour in the skin. I've noticed that everyone's complexion just radiates after a few weeks on PCP :)

  2. Sounds like you are not having a great day. That happens and it will pass.

If you can't skip in the mornings then wait until you have some food and later in the day. Listen to your body and don't beat yourself up about it.

The main thing is that they get done (JFD) and really it doesn't matter when you get it done.

I often wake up so hungry I need to eat straight away. I then get to the workout later in the day.

Sounds like you need to change up your breakfast menu too. I have been having a veg frittata wrapped in a large flour tortilla with just a small squirt of hot sauce. A spicy breakfast burrito to kick start the day. Takes me less than 3 minutes to make.

I am just planning to keep to around the previous veg amounts. But I think you are on veg for dinner. Eat as much as you feel you need so you are not so hungry in the mornings.

  3. I totally agree with Elaine - your skin is glowing. Must be all that fresh air and exercise.

  4. I got so much burn and so much muscle failure today that I nearly gave it all up. Decided though that tomorrow is a new day, so will start again with a greater amount of joie de vivre!

Many thanks for the comments re skin. Had to go and buy Oil of Olay as my skin was so dry.

  5. Burn and failure is a good thing. It is hard to remember that sometimes I know as it hurts. The shopping trip probably added to your workout.

But tomorrow is a new day.

  6. You guys (Tracey and Conny) are so supportive toward all of us on this program. It's a hard program and my problem is that it's a daily thing. I decided not to skip this morning as it's pitch black and freezing in the mornings when I need to skip. I jumped on the treadmill for 30 minutes of real running while I timed Georgie to skip. I will try and skip when I get home and then do the rest of the program after.

We all have good and bad days but we are on day 44 now and tomorrow is halfway. You've both done so well and look at how you both look now. Amazing, so you must be curious as to what the pictures will look like in 45 days time.

Keep up the good work and we will all finish this together.

  7. Thank you so much for your comments Bruce. And oh boy, yes it is a daily thing! Great to know that we are nearly half way through as I think that is a major achievement. Let's just keep on trucking. Must be quite difficult in the cold.

  8. I think it is really cool that we are spread all over the world and going through the same pain/gains.

I am kinda addicted to reading the blogs. I probably comment too much but hey, that is just some of the joy of me. :-)
