Day 34: 5.30am start!

In order to get all my exercises done before I head off to London I surprised myself by actually getting up at 5.30am to do my exercises. I didn't think that a long flight, dinner at the other end with friends and THEN skipping and working out would work. So yes, it was painful, yes my body was tight, but the really good news was that apart from the fact that the katanas nearly killed me I could actually do them. Also the dips worked (sort of). I mentally think to myself as I am going through it all that once the skipping and the creeps, jumps, squats or whatever they may be on that day are over then I am on the home run. It helps me to get through. Of course, it is by no means the easy part, it is just the mental part, as the planks nearly felled me.

I was quite stiff when I woke up so do quite a lot of stretching.

Amazing though that the people who walk their dogs at 6am do not seem to smile. In the afternoon everyone is much more friendly. Think I will stick to what works for me in future as much as possible which is warmer, softer body and a later start.

Skipping in Earls Court tomorrow... a treat, I think..........

  2. Have to add a comment here as will not be able to blog today... technical problems on my part. Skipping in London at 6am was wonderful. My 9-year old helper skipping next to me. Very, very tired from the flight and even though only skipping today, it was one of the hardest workouts I have ever done! Still up and down re physical health. All joints achy, feeling fluish. Skip did me good even though it was difficult.

  3. Our culture puts far too much stock in the "virtue" of waking up early. If the afternoon is when you feel best, by all means make that your routine. Your last photo was really good Conny, watch the silhouette of your body change between the waistband and ribs!

  4. Ah, the early start on Day 34 was only because I had to catch an 11am flight to London and knew there was absolutely no way that I would be able to exercise when I got in to our hotel. And yesterday (Day 35) was due to jetlag and I thought it would be a good thing.... found out otherwise. But even though it is now 6am again and I have been awake for hours, I am keeping the exercise until this afternoon when we have decamped to Scotland.
