Will be eating at home before I go to a dinner party tonight
Another day of being tired. Weather in Tokyo this morning not good with lots of rain.... spent the morning debating where I was going to skip. Luckily rain stopped so the whole family was in the park. Once we got back (only a 2 min walk) my youngest daughter helped by counting my reps and timing my rests. Made it all worth it. Still tired. Out tonight but dinner won't be served until 9pm so will eat before we go. For one thing, it is too late, but also I can't chew yet and can't really ask if I can liquidise the Priya tandoori chicken. Also can't guarantee there will be enough veg. Gutted that I will be sitting there watching everyone eat their Priya curries, but will take my fruit snack with me....... Not sure how this is all going to go. Will drive the car so I am not even tempted by alcohol. Strongly questioning now why I said I could go out.

Sorry to hear about your teeth.
ReplyDeleteGive the green smoothies a go. Just google for some recipe ideas. I just use whatever green is in my fridge and then add some fruit for sweetness.
Teeth will remain painful.... getting braces along with my 10-year old. Am determined to chew today.
ReplyDeleteWill look up the smoothie recipes, but have been finding that liquidized food makes me hungrier more quickly. Will experiment!
Conny, if you can help it don't liquidize your food. You don't get the same satisfaction that you get from chewing. Try eating softer foods. I had braces in the past so I know what you are going through. About the end of week 2 or 3 a lot of the cravings just disappear and being in a room full of people eating all your favorite foods will be easy (promise). Also the longer you stay off the salt, booze and processed foods the more you will start to taste the food you are eating. Someone told me this and I thought they were full of s%#t but it turns out it's true. Fruit is sweeter, veggies are crisper. I taste flavors now in foods that I eat all the time that I had never tasted before.
ReplyDeleteOn my wall you asked about airplane travel. It isn't easy. Most airlines have a low sodium or vegetarian option but not both. I usually choose veggie option and take food with me on the flight. It's a pain but it works. For fruit blue berries, apples and cherries stay pretty well. Also boiled eggs and cut up carrot and zucchini sticks. I put a damp paper towel in there to keep them from drying all the way out.
To be honest the diet has been one of the easiest parts for me but the days when it did fall apart were days when I hadn't prepared ahead of time so the best advice I can give you is to plan ahead.
Lori,
ReplyDeletethank you so much for all your comments. Yes liquidising is not good, so will chose my foods more carefully. Carrots are good. Time is also a major healer.
Will try my best re airplanes. Thank you so much for those tips.
