Maybe incline pull ups would be easier if I weighed less

The number "800" managed to freak me out a bit, especially when I looked at the forthcoming workouts and "1,000" came up. Not sure that we won't be doing "2,000" jumps very soon in the future. So, the thought of 800 PLUS the workout was daunting enough to send me back to bed this morning. Decided I needed to take the only opportunity I will have in the next 2 weeks to rest. Felt better for it.  But also managed to catch up on eating everything I needed to eat today.

I also made some muffins with coconut flour which were d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s.

After putting off the exercise sessions I actually found it relatively OK to do the 800 and then start the rest. It is all in the mind. Only worry though is that I skip in a nearby park which has hard packed dirt on the ground as I figure this is better than concrete or stone. However, it takes me about 2-3 minutes to walk home from the park and not sure if this is too much of a break in the exercise routine before I start the other exercises. Other option is skipping on the road and amusing the neighbours. But that may be too hard on the knees for the long term.

Push ups were hard though. I am also looking forward to the time when my arms will be pulling up less weight in the incline pull ups (due to miraculous weight loss on my part) with the vain hope that that will make them easier. They were tough. Lots of moaning going on. Nothing louder than that as I didn't have the energy. But...... once it was all over I was bouncing around, so that is good.

  1. If your muffins are PCP compliant please post the recipe. I am trying to figure out a vegie lasagna using cottage cheese that will cover a few meals.

Just saw your flicker photos - huge difference already. Good show!!

  2. Conny, looking great! Tracey's right - very noticeable change already, keep it up!

Know how you feel abt push ups - hate them with a vengeance. The last 2 of each set that I do are always absolute rubbish. Hubby's always insisting that I redo them!

  3. The only problem is getting the coconut flour and coconut oil as I had to buy them via internet from the US. The muffins have some butter in them which I halved. As I am gluten intolerant and have a lot of food restrictions I was just getting sick of what I was eating. I can't believe how many eggs go into bread, muffins etc. The next thing I will try which has no butter is the following:

    Coconut Bread

    Ingredients
    ¾ cup sifted Coconut Flour

½ cup Organic Virgin Coconut Oil or butter, melted

6 eggs

2 tablespoons honey (may skip this as can't stand honey)

½ teaspoon salt (will skip this)

1 teaspoon baking powder

    Method
Blend together eggs, butter, honey and salt. Combine coconut flour with baking powder and whisk thoroughly into batter until there are no lumps. Pour into greased 9x5x3 inch or smaller loaf pan and bake at 175C (350F) for 40 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on rack.

  4. This looks great and yum.

Could I substitute rice flour until I can find some coconut flour?

I love baking so I will play with some bread recipes too.

  5. Apparently coconut flour absorbs a lot of water so you would probably need more flour if it is rice-based. But you could experiment. Otherwise a quick internet search brought this on up, but no idea what rice polish is.

    JIMMY'S CARROT RICE FLOUR BREAD
    1 rounded c. rice flour
    1/2 c. rice polish
    2 tbsp. butter
    1/4 c. rice bran
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. sugar or honey
    1 c. finely grated carrot
    3 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs, separated (beat whites stiff)

Sift flour, rice polish, bran, salt, sugar and baking powder 3 times. Melt butter. Put in small bowl with 1/2 milk and egg yolks. Mix well. Put into flour mix and beat well.
Add finely grated raw carrots and mix well. fold in egg whites and blend. Bake in greased bread pan, medium size, for 55 to 65 minutes at 350 degrees.
